Can a voice recorder be used to secretly record what people are saying at a meeting?

And is there any way that the voice recorder can be detected?

Depends on what type of meeting it is. If its buisness like work i dont see why not but if it is like court type meeting then no. Like i said it depends on what type of meeting it is.
The reason you have to record secretly, means that you are doing something that the others would object to. That means that what you are doing is ethically wrong – So no! you should not record – you will regret your actions if you do.
