Digital Pen by Pen Technology?

Hi. There is a pen out in the Vancouver marketplace by Pen Technology I believe. It is a digital pen w/voice recorder and a specialized notepad. It is being marketed to be used by students in lectures, etc … and afterwards you can transfer your notes and voice recording of the lecture to your computer. Just wondering if anyone out there has used it and what “feedback” there is … prior to me purchasing for school. thanks

Hi,
Haven’t used that one exactly, but have used many others.
The digital pen & paper concept is excellent – as long as it is based on the Anoto functionality.
Basically there are 2 different platforms for digital pens, 1) from Anoto where the pen `reads’ it’s position on paper by scanning tiny dots, and 2) where the pen must be in close proximity to a bluetooth clipboard. It plots it’s position by movement.
If you get the one using Anoto (small dots) then you will get a much higher level of and accuracy of hand writing recognition.
The files for these systems are generally very easy to use and you can open them up in Word so you can edit, print, save, e-mail etc.
I have never used the voice recording systems so can’t comment.
Bottom line is that the technology is rock solid, the applications are getting better month by month – worse case it will certainly save you needing to retype your notes.
