How do I download voice notes from my recorder onto the computer?

Question by HarleyQuinn: How do I download voice notes from my recorder onto the computer?
I need a CD of the accompainment of a song for a college audition, but I only have it on my voice recorder. There must be a way to do this! I’ve seen people put songs on their voice recorder on the computer, and then itunes, I just never figured out how.
Please help =)

Does your voice recorder sync to your PC?
If so, open the recorder using Activesync, or similar, find the file, drag it to the desktop and then make the CD, using the software that came with your CD writer. You may need to convert the audio file to WAV – use something like audacity (free software) to do that.
If not, play the voice note into your computer through the input jack. Record it using Sound Recorder (a windows program.) Then make the CD, using the software that came with your CD writer.

If your recorder doesn’t have a USB port or another way of interfacing with a PC, you may need to get one of these http://www.amazon.com/Ft-3-5mm-Male-Cable/dp/B001420ERW
Plug one end to the recorder’s headphone jack and the other end to your PC’s mic input. Download and install a free program like Audacity to record and edit your song.
