Who knows of a basic transcription software for the Mac – not voice recognition, just digital transcription?
I just switched to Mac and need a new program. Everything I see is speech recognition software. I just need a basic program through which I can transcribe plain old digital MP3 files on my computer with a headset and foot pedal. Is this really that old-fashioned? I see the NCH but haven’t had luck with it in the past on the PC.

Gosh, I haven’t heard of anything like that for MP3s. My guess is your best bet might be to transfer the files to cassette, then use your foot pedal (which, I assume, hooks up to a tape deck you already have?).
I’m not sure which programs to recommend for that, but I’m sure you’ll find more results for mp3-to-cassette transfer than digital transcription.
