Names of live audio CD Recorders?

Question by hotjazzpiano: Names of live audio CD Recorders?
I have the Marantz CDR 300 which can recorder live audio direct to CD. I wanted to find out what other brands there are out there and any experiences that you have…good or bad.
I need to pick up a second audio cd recorder and would like to explore other options.
Thanks for your responses. I use this to teach music students so each of them get a CD to take with them to practice. HD recording is great but recording and then burning to a CD takes too much time at the end of the lesson.
If it were just for personal use, I would get a digital field recorder to Flash but…those CDs are important to the student.

I am surprised even this product exists! In effect it is a PC (it includes a hard drive), which explains the steep price.
You see CD-ROM is 1x!! Well, there are no 1x drives any more, so in effect you need to buffer the recording in a hard drive otherwise you will get major buffer underflow when you try to record.
I would buy a very good audio card for my PC and some s/w and I would create my own CD recorder at a far less price.
Check also zzsounds.com for audio recorders using flash cards. You can create then your own CDs on your PC.

hard drive recorders are teh new portable thing…CDs are fairly old and you cant multi track into them…
Try the Alesis HD24 with a digital mixer
or some other small MTR like a Frostex
Marantz is really a Philips record engine. You might get a better price on one that is Philips branded.
