I have the same one. I have recordings of family events since I was 10 years old. I like to record anything.

I got this recorder a few months ago…it’s so easy to use I never once even needed the instruction booklet.

I got a butt load of old TAPES from back in the day… Is it hard to record from a Tape player onto this digital recorder???

Well made video. Thanks – Ed

I’m thinking of getting it for recording live music also. I’ve read reviews that say the playback level is low, but I don’t care about that, I’m not playing back music with that ridiculously small speaker, I just want to record and get nice stereo sound that won’t distort. I’ll download the file and convert to MP3 for my ipod, but was wondering if you could let me know if it does a good clean job for live music. Would like to record some concerts as well, thanks!

hey so I am thinking about buying this. Is it good? I need it cuz I am learning a new language.

dude, this things volume level sucks. I bought it for recording riffs and what not on my guitar. The playback level is crazy low… and yea, i have turned the volume ‘all the way up ‘. anyone know what the deal is? i could have bought a tank of gas

Oh! Ok, 3 hours and 20 minutes is the length of time. It just showed the battery full symbol. Awesome. I think I’ll stick with the disposables though.

the WS-510M comes with a rechargeable battery that charges it from the computer. I was hoping I could find out how long this will take since I’m on 3 hours and 20 minutes of charging. The booklet doesn’t say.

thank you for this guide. it definitely explained a lot better than those booklets olympus calls instructions. =P

Can anyone let me know where I can get an online guide to the more advanced features on te ws 400?

HE HAVE to..! absolutly unhelpful guide for chosing that one.

Titled or not, posting a useless video on youtube angers anyone with half a brain.

Which proves my point that you’re an illiterate prick. Do you read the titles of videos before you watch them or just click aimlessly on videos and subsequently act like an asshole in the comments section? My guess is the latter…

No one gives a shit about basic guides. He can take his basic guide and shove it! Olympus provides a Basic Guide.

That’s why he called it a “basic guide” not a “review”, numbnuts…

By noizereduction on October 31st, 2009 at 6:06 pm

Horrible “review”. No one cares about you touching the buttons. All that matters is the recording quality, and you failed at sampling it!

By imissyoudad2003 on October 31st, 2009 at 6:33 pm

it keeps blinking and says standby

By imissyoudad2003 on October 31st, 2009 at 6:58 pm

Why it says standby when I push rec button

I’m doing video interviews and wanted to buy a large microphone but the costs were too high ($300 for a high end recorder) so I opted for this one ($99)
. at first I was apprehensive because it was so small, but the guy at the store told me to try it….I did…and recording is AMAZING; the sound is very good and it is very easy to transfer it to your computer….the technology in it is very advanced.

should you give a sample

Thanks a lot. Could you tell how good is that digital recorder?? Do you think is a good option to buy?

great review
