How to transcribe using a digital voice recorder and Dragon software?

Question by Christine: How to transcribe using a digital voice recorder and Dragon software?
I’ve downloaded the software for both my Sony ICD-PX720 digital recorder and for Dragon Version 11. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to use them together, despite extensive searching on the Dragon website and the Sony website, along with attempting to use the help function for both. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could offer me.

HI.
This is a guess , so any body knowing the answer should post as well.
I assume you can get the recorded audio to play on your computer.
I assume that dragon uses the mic when you are narrating .
There is one of two things you can do in my opinion.
Ether change the audio source from mic to stereo mix ( sounds that come from your computer speakers) with-in the dragon program or change the source manually .
If you right click your volume speaker icon (bottom right ) and select recording devices.
A pop up box will appear you should see several icons the mic and stereo mix.
Should you not see stereo mix then right click in this pop up box and check
“show disabled devices”.
If you enable stereo mix it may show as a source with-in the dragon program.
You may need to set stereo mix as default device , change back when you want to use your mic.
Now with luck if you start dragon and play the audio file from your computer with default player the sounds coming from computer speakers will be the source.
PS One more option i have thought of is to buy a small 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack to jack cable.
You could then plug the audio out from recorder tho the computers audio in (mic) you would need to set the recorder output volume to very low , but should work.
